G’day guys, Luke again, Mechcon Welding and Fabrication.

We’re gonna have a look at some of the skilled work that gets done on our landscape packages.

This particular one we’re gonna have a look at is for Ace Landscape Constructions and for Manningham City Council out here at Doncaster. It’s a metalworks package, not just handrails this time.

We’ve got some park furniture, some seating, which you’ll see in the video. But we’ll have a look at the construction of the stairs to start with. Solid concrete, the council has left it up to us to get the penetrations for the posts in the right spot and to the right depth. We’ve core drilled these. You’ll see in the video a bit of core drilling. That’s fairly typical for a lot of our posts. This time around they were a rectangular solid post, which was a little bit different into a round hole. We’ve chemically set them into the holes. We’ve had the onsite engineers carefully go through our plan of execution with regard to the hole location, the sizing and the effects it may or may not have with the reinforcement of the concrete. So we’ve sorted all that out with the engineering department and council and they’re happy with what we’ve proposed and what we’re gonna be doing here.

We’ll have a look at the skill involved, I guess, of the welding that we do, the polishing that we do, the connections that we do. It’s taken nearly 15 years to get it up to this level. It’s artwork to see it done like this. There’s not too many businesses out there that do this level of stainless steel and polishing for tier one jobs. I’m very proud of these guys actually when I come out on site and have a look at some of this work and just their execution on how fluid they make it look. It is, it’s a special thing.
