ADVANCED WELDING AND TESTING SOLUTIONS FOR STAINLESS STEEL TANKS
Mechcon’s workshop has established written welding procedures and an NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) system for hydrostatic testing, incorporating Welding Procedure Qualification and documentation for Welding Procedure Specification (WPS). Our hydrostatic testing uses water in a controlled pressure test by filling the tank to simulate its working life and conditions. This aims to find weld and manufacturing defects, such as cracks and leaks.
Another NDT method we have used for several years is Liquid Dye Penetrant Testing, a food-safe penetrant perfect for the stainless steel food and dairy industries. Our business has helped build and maintain well-known modern food processing plants such as Gruma Oceania, Mission Foods Australia in Epping, Melbourne, and Lamb Weston Australia Hallam Plants in Melbourne, just to name a few.
