At Mechcon, we specialise in structural steel fabrication and installation in Melbourne and Victoria wide. Offering a start to finish solution, which includes in-house Shop Drawings (CAD Facilities), on and off site steel and stainless steel welding and erection.

Mechcon are the experts in quality steel fabrication and welding, which includes stainless steel fabrication, staircases, handrails, balustrades, structural steel welding and steel work for commercial, industrial and domestic buildings. Architectural compliant custom handrails and balustrades, which include disable access handrails and balustrades in steel, galvanised steel and marine grade stainless steel.
Mechcon also provide engineering, fabrication and installation for Roof Plant Platforms for the HVAC and associated Industries along with stainless steel welding and polishing for the Food and Dairy Industry including Plant Maintenance and Pipe Fitting. At Mechcon have also been supplying high volume fabricated frames and custom parts for over 7 years to Australia’s largest truck refrigeration transport company. Our experience also extends into industrial Roof Plant Platform systems. Mechcon has also worked in the following Industry sectors: New Railway Stations being constructed in and around Melbourne, including Metal Work and Balustrade Packages to existing Railway Station and Tram works. New Bridge and Road projects, including fabrication of street furniture. Council infrastructure including Bike and Pedestrian Paths, Safety Rails along with fabricated and installed Balustrades. All our products are fabricated by Mechcon’s dedicated team of qualified Boilermakers and Ticketed Welders.

Scope of works was as followings:
• Manufacture 10 steel bulkheads of approximate dimensions 3.4 high x 2.3 wide
( approx 2 tonnes each)
• Prepare & Paint bulkheads ( Spark Testing on paint build up)
• Assemble bulkheads (seals & strips)
• Deliver to site.
All units were manufactured within strict tolerances and specifications and I would not hesitate to use the staff of Mechcon Welding & Fabrication Pty Ltd again for similar works.

On April 21st 2006, Mechcon completed our first set of steel conical pier wall forms and tapered steel pier protection barrier nose forms (approximately 18 tonnes) for the overpass structures on the Pakenham Bypass.
Since the forms will be consistently used or future VicRoads works rom project to project, we rely on the fabrication to be 100% accurate and highly rigid.
We are pleased to report that we have been totally satisfied with Mechcons quality control and delivery times for this work, with the welding requiring qualified weld tests and procedures including certified personnel to further assure the quality of the work.
