Mechcon was contracted to rectify and reinstate existing bridge handrails by Vic Roads and City of Melbourne which included Supply Fabrication and Installation of 350 Lineal Metres of Tubular Handrails.

Mechcon Welding & Fabrication Pty Ltd were responsible for the Site Measurements throughout the project, Fabricated samples were submitted for approval , Shop Drawings, Laser cut Stanchions and Polishing of all materials including custom Plates/Fins.

Stages Included: North West Stair Case – North East Stair Case – South East Stair Case – South West Stair Case all of these ended up with new Stainless Handrails following Vic Roads strict specifications – Bridge works included over 280 lineal metres of new Stainless Steel Handrails following the contour of the North and South of the bridge which involved careful forming and rolling of the Stainless Steel Tubing. The Bike Path widening was also a job that required Stainless Steel Handrails fabricated and installed to Vic Roads strict specifications and Architectural plans.

Hello, I am Luke from Mechcon Welding & Fabrication. We are out here today on the Swan Street Bridge. We have recently completed a package here for handrails and balustrades, steel fabrication for Seymore White, VicRoad and the City of Melbourne.

I’m gonna run through the job you guys. Mechcon was contacted to rectify and reinstated excising bridge handrails by Vic Roads and the City of Melbourne. Which include the supply fabrication and installation of 350 lineal metres of marine grade stainless steel tube handrails. Mechcon Welding and fabrication were responsible for the site measurements throughout the project, fabricated samples were submitted for approval, shop drawings laser cut stanchions  and polishing of all materials including custom plates and fins. Stages included North West staircase on the Yarra, North east staircase, South East staircase, south west staircase, all of these ended up with the new stainless steel handles following VicRoads strict specifications.
